Kimura Racing’s Liona Theobald turns her attention to Round 3 of the Ginetta GT Championship at Donington Park this weekend. Earlier this month she had a positive test day in mixed conditions and now it’s all eyes on this weekend!
During the previous round of the championship, it was a positive weekend with lessons learnt, and was Liona’s first-time racing at the iconic Silverstone GP!
Race 1: Cancelled due to the poor weather conditions.
Race 2: P6
The first few laps of the race were under a safety car due to an incident on lap 1. When the safety car went in, we began racing again and Liona was maintaining P5 for the first half of the race and holding off some strong competition to finish P6.
Liona had this to say after the race day:
‘Thank you to the whole team, especially Craig, for an awesome car all weekend and working hard for all weather conditions! Lots of experience was taken from this weekend in the wet and the dry. As well as my confidence in the car. We keep pushing!’
Ginetta is focused around being inclusive, welcoming & having rewarding race experiences for drivers at all levels. Liona is racing with SVG Motorsport throughout the Ginetta Championship.
