The Academy Team consisting of Eliza Seville & Riley Phillips geared up for Team Kimura Racing in the iRacing Sebring 12 Hours. The race was a 12-hour endurance race held at Sebring International Raceway in Sebring, Florida. The team were placed into Split 31.
For their first race together Eliza & Riley demonstrated some very good teamwork throughout the 12 hours.
Riley Phillips was up first for the qualifying and he did an excellent job and managed to get the Kimura Racing car into P1 to start the race. Riley continued to dominate the first two hours of the race and gap in the field by 15 seconds. It was then Eliza’s time to take the track for the first time for Kimura Racing and she put in a great shift. The team remained at around P2/P3 for most of the race until a slight lapse in concentration saw Elia have a half spin which dropped us to down P5.
For the last stint Riley was back in the seat and he put in a superb shift, by setting the fastest lap of the race and what looked like a certain P5 finish ended up being an impressive P4.
Ethan Pattison, Head of Sim Racing was extremely impressed with both Eliza & Riley’s performances. ‘Eliza absolutely smashed it! Eliza put in a fantastic shift for her first race for Kimura Sim Racing. Given how new she is to the sim, to be as consistent and fast as she has been, is extremely promising. Riley raced superbly over the course of the 12 hours and really demonstrated his quality and composure. The pair of them communicated well together and I was pleased with their cohesion, race craft and teamwork.’
